The Childhood Edit is a series of short, thoughtfully designed portrait sessions that capture your child exactly as they are in this moment - playful, expressive, and growing way too fast. These are quick, easy sessions meant to be repeated over time to document childhood.

Each session is about 10 minutes. It’s intentionally short to keep things fun, low-pressure, and aligned with kids’ attention spans.

That’s completely okay and expected. We don’t need “perfect” behavior to create beautiful images. Some of the best moments come from real expressions. Come as you are and we’ll work with whatever your child brings that day.

Our sessions are designed for children who can sit up on their own, usually around 6 months and up, all the way through 18 years old. If your little one is right on the cusp, don’t worry we’re happy to help you decide if it’s the right time 🤍Just email us at hello@thechildhoodedit.com

You’re welcome to bring two additional siblings (3 children total). We’ll do our best to capture a few group moments at the end of your primary child’s session. Because sessions are short, we can’t guarantee individual portraits of each child. If you’d like dedicated images of each child, we recommend booking a separate session for each child.

We recommend simple, timeless pieces - neutrals, soft textures, and minimal patterns photograph beautifully. Think elevated but comfortable.

For the most timeless images, we suggest removing any temporary tattoos your child has before your session. While they’re fun, they don’t always photograph well.

A favorite toy, stuffy, or snack can help your child warm up and feel comfortable in the space.

All sessions are paid in full at booking. Due to limited availability:

• 7+ days before your session: Full refund

• 7 days to 48 hours before: 50% refund or 50% credit toward a future session (valid for 6 months)

• Within 48 hours or no-shows: No refund or credit

All cancellations must be emailed to hello@thechildhoodedit.com and are effective upon receipt.

Yes! Each session includes a curated gallery of approximately 15 images. If you’d like more, you’ll have the option to purchase additional photos or the full gallery once it’s delivered.
